The Belle Époque
From 1871 until the war broke in 1914, France gave itself over to beauty - the Ritz and Maxim's, the first fashion houses, Galeries Lafayette lit like a theatre, the Eiffel Tower rising over the 1889 World's Fair, furniture with marble tops and gilded curves. No one called it beautiful while it lasted. The name came later, from those who survived the war and looked back knowing the best days were already gone.This collection comes from those years and beyond, made when beauty was still reason enough - a little of the beautiful era, the Belle Époque.
