French Farm Table

France, 20th Century

$4,995

Antique One-Of-A-Kind Wood

The table a whole farmhouse lived around. Found in Le Mans and made in the early 20th century, it carries a thick plank top on four heavy turned legs, joined low by a stretcher and stripped back to a soft, pale wood. The farm table was the one piece a French household truly lived around, where the family ate, worked, rolled out pastry and settled the accounts, and the low stretcher gave somewhere to rest your feet off a cold stone floor. Sylvie would put it in the kitchen or dining room and let it do everything, dinners and homework and long lunches that never quite end.

Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
