Found in Denmark, this corner chair arrived with the patina of a Dutch farmhouse kitchen. The frame is turned oak, the posts finished with a lathe to create gentle swells and caps that catch light without fussing about it. This one dates to the 1940s, when such pieces were still being turned out in workshops across the Netherlands rather than factories, each post shaped by hand. Sylvie loves to place it in a study or sunroom, next to a tall window or a low bookshelf, where it reads less as furniture and more as an invitation to stay awhile with a book and the light changing across the wall behind you.
