Antique One-Of-A-Kind Hard To Find Jaw Dropper

In the Ardèche, where chestnut forests climb the hills and villages sit small and far apart, a shop counter had to hold a little of everything. Found in Le Mans and dating to the early 20th century, this one holds nine deep drawers in three rows, each designed to pull out from either side of the counter, with a simple wooden pull on both ends. The drawers are set into a solid, plank-topped case on a plinth. In a mountain village far from the nearest town, the local shop was grocer, hardware store, and everything in between, with drawers like these keeping the whole stock sorted. This one has been meticulously restored and is ready to keep yours. Sylvie uses it as an island in the middle of the room or as a sideboard along a wall, the deep drawers swallowing linens, tools, and everything a room would rather not show.

Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use. The wood shows small imperfections and chips, with some scuffs through the finish along the top. There are drawers on both sides, with a gleaming semi-matte finish. The drawer interiors are unfinished.
