Once the humble workstation of a French craftsman in Paris, this 19th-century oak workbench was built to withstand years of chisels, sawdust, and wood shavings. Its thick oak top, sturdy trestle legs, two functioning drawers and lower shelf carry all the grit and character of its workshop days, now softened into a perfectly weathered patina. This piece has a metal plate screwed to the front telling the story of its life with Gohin-Poulenc company as an Atelier Montereaux. Found by Sylvie in Barjac, we now imagine it as a console table in your entryway stacked with art books, or behind a couch with candles and ceramics where tools once cluttered.
