This petite lidded tureen carries the signature glow of 19th-century Saint-Uze pottery, produced in the Drôme region once local potters discovered a vein of kaolin-rich clay that fired into a soft, luminous white. Workshops there quickly became known for their stenciled cobalt motifs, and this piece shows off a rarer geometric pattern, more stylized and almost modernist compared to the florals more commonly seen. Originally used at the French table for vegetables, sauces, or anything meant to stay warm through a long meal, it now feels right at home holding sea salt, herbs, or even jewelry on a bedside.
