She’s form and function! Found in Montpellier and dating to the 20th century, this carpenter’s workbench was built to keep tools close and surfaces clear - a thick plank top, four deep drawers fitted with original metal pulls, and an open side bay that once held larger pieces mid-project. Everything is squared off and practical, designed to be stood at, leaned on, and reached into without thinking. You can picture the rhythm of it: wood shavings on the floor, drawers slid open with dusty hands, measurements taken and retaken on this very surface. Sylvie loves it repurposed as a console or kitchen island - somewhere books stack, flowers land, and the piece keeps doing what it’s always done: hold things that matter.
