If you’ve ever wanted a sideboard that looks like it came straight out of an 18th century French dining room, this is the one. Found in Montpelier, it’s built from wide planks with those beautiful carved arch panels across the front, a deep overhanging top, and a scalloped base that gives it a little je ne sais quoi. Originally, pieces like this were used to store serving linens, platters, and the good silver, and this one still has that generous, wide-open interior (no shelves) plus two original keys that actually come with it. Use it now as a dining room sideboard for table linens and extra serveware, or in an entry as a serious storage piece that still looks elegant while doing the work.
