Found in Avignon, this 20th-century oil painting is a still life of a bullfighter's traje de luces, the gold-embroidered "suit of lights" worn in the Spanish bullring. The jacket and breeches are painted in heavy gold thread and beading against a dark ground, with a red cape draped beside them. The painting is signed in the lower corner, though the name is hard to make out. Sylvie hangs it in a study where the gold and red glow against a dark wall.
