Straight from a Alpine kitchen wall. This 20th century hanging shelf from the Alps, found in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, is built from solid pine planks with a tall backboard and three small drawers running along the base. Designed to be mounted above a worktable or stove, it would have held everyday crockery, spice jars, and folded linens, with the drawers keeping small utensils and household essentials tucked neatly away. Sylvie loves it hung in a kitchen with stacks of white plates and a few well chosen ceramics, letting its simple Alpine lines frame the everyday beautifully.
