A little copper moment for the center of the table. This French jardinière, found in Carpentras, is made from warm, softly aged copper and raised on petite decorative feet that give it just enough lift. Originally used to hold potted plants or fresh cut flowers indoors, it would have brought a touch of polish to a dining table or mantel, especially in the late nineteenth to early twentieth century when copper accents were a favorite in provincial homes. The simple rectangular form is balanced by curved side handles with ceramic grips, adding both function and a bit of flourish. Sylvie loves it filled with clustered bulbs in early spring, letting the green leaves and bright blooms play against that rich copper glow.
