Afternoon tea, but done the southern French way, a little more practical and a little more clever. This Saint-Uze earthenware teapot comes with its original strainer that nests neatly on top, a two-part design that let loose tea steep cleanly before being poured, the whole piece finished in a soft cream glaze with delicate blue floral sprigs. Produced in the Drôme region in the late 19th to early 20th century, Saint-Uze ceramics were known for their durable stoneware bodies and everyday ingenuity, made for kitchens that valued use as much as appearance. Sylvie keeps it out on the counter or a shelf, sometimes with a few dried stems tucked into the top, letting the shape and pattern carry the moment even when there is no tea involved.
