There’s no hiding what this table has been through, and that’s exactly the point. Found in Montpellier and originally from Catalonia, this kitchen table was built to be extended, worked on, and used hard, its two removable leaves pulled in and out depending on how many people it needed to hold. The top carries the marks of that rhythm, shifting, expanding, closing again, while the base tells a quieter, more physical story. The legs are worn down low and uneven, not from time alone but from years of contact, feet, movement, and the constant push and pull of daily life around it. The stretcher sits low, smoothed by use rather than design, holding everything together as it always has. Sylvie loves it opened up and in use again, holding a full table the way it was built to, with nothing about it feeling precious or still.
