Collector alert! This Maison Jansen curule stool, crafted circa 1950–1960, has a blackened steel frame with intersecting X-form legs and a latticed seat. Finely cast brass ends shaped like stylized animal heads reference the classical Roman curule seat, long associated with status and authority. Jansen translated that form through clean midcentury lines and tailored materials. Sylvie places it in a dressing room or at the end of a bed, where the brass catches the light.
