The perfect dining table doesn't exis... Discovered in Avignon, this 19th century monastery refectory table was originally built for communal meals, where long benches lined either side and everything was shared. Crafted from solid hardwood with traditional pegged joinery, the thick plank top rests on a trestle base with hand-cut supports and a long chamfered stretcher anchoring it below - details made to endure daily use over generations. The surface has been sanded back, revealing the natural tone of the wood and the quiet marks left behind from years of use. Sylvie loves it set at the center of a kitchen, where meals stretch on over a glass of wine.
