Found in Avignon, this 20th-century French side table has the bobbin-turned legs that have run through French country furniture for three hundred years. The octagonal top sits on four legs joined by a low X-stretcher with a small turned finial in the center, the way these were always built. The wood was refinished in the workshop, and the warm walnut tone came back from underneath the years of wear. Sylvie places it next to a deep armchair with a small lamp, an open book, and the cup of tea that's gone cold from forgetting.
