This is one Sylvie fell for instantly. Found in Montpellier, this rare French breakfast table dates to the late 19th to early 20th century, when pieces like this were used for early morning coffee, bread, and whatever the day started with - often off to the side of a kitchen or near a window. It’s built from a single turned pedestal with a wide base and a thick circular top, worn smooth from years of use. The scale is small but solid, and the crack running through the base is from the wood naturally shifting over time - something you see often in pieces that have been in use this long and that we are especially fond of. Sylvie loves it right where you actually start your day - next to a window with a cup of coffee, a book left open, maybe yesterday’s glass still sitting there.
