Found in Montpellier and originally from a bastide near Lyon, this early 20th century tapestry draws from much older French weaving traditions, where scenes like this - hunts, gardens, and long countryside rides were used to line walls and hold warmth in large stone rooms. Woven in heavy textile with a deep border framing the scene, it shows a layered landscape of trees, figures, and riders moving through it, all built up in rich greens, browns, and softened blues. Sylvie hangs it where it can take up real space and shine as the anchor to any room.
