There is always one table in a room that everything ends up on, and this is built to be that one. Found in Avignon, this 1940s coffee table sets a round top of veined white marble on a wooden base, four shaped legs joined low by a cross stretcher. Sylvie sets it in front of a low sofa with a stack of art books, a small dish for whatever comes out of pockets, and a candle burning down by the end of the night.
