Morning light hits the counter and suddenly even the practical things start to shine. This set of two French canisters, found in Carpentras and dating to the 1950s, are made from polished metal with clean, rounded sides and subtle banding that wraps the body, catching the light beautifully. Each is topped with a dark knob and finished with labeled plaques reading Chicorée and Sucre, a nod to the rituals they once organized in the kitchen. These would have lined a shelf holding coffee substitutes, sugar, or pantry staples, keeping everything in its place with a sense of intention. Sylvie lines them up where they can reflect a bit of movement back into the room, on an open shelf or counter, holding tea bags, coffee, or whatever you reach for daily.
