Known as the French rillette pot, they were originally used to slow cook and preserve foods in an era before the fridge. These lovely vintage salt-glazed stoneware confit pots are now the perfect vase. Extra points if you group a few together for an eclectic look.

    Each pot is unique and has its own imperfections. There are minor chips and scratches, but on the whole, they are in great shape. The wide grey vase has bubbles in the clay body which we think only adds to its character.

These 19th-century potteries originate from Saint-Amand in Puisaye, a renowned pottery region with a heritage dating back to the 14th century. Once crafted, they traveled from eastern France to the Nantes region, carried by merchants navigating the Loire. These particular pieces were discovered in a historic wine house in Chinon, bearing the rich history of their journey and use.
