Avignon gave this one up reluctantly. A 1920s walnut pedestal that doesn’t just stand- it spirals. The barley twist column climbs with a drama the French have been perfecting since the 1600s, landing on a tripod of scrolling feet that look like they might take a bow. Set your wine on it, drop a vase of blooms, or let it play wingman to the chair you never give up.
