Antique Cantor Side Table - Round
France, 19th Century
$695
Cantor stools, or tabourets de chantre, originated in 17th-century France as functional seating for church cantors during services. This one, crafted from sturdy oak with a rounded front and flat back, was designed to sit flush against choir stalls or stone walls during long hymns and readings. Only one available. Sylvie loves using it as a petite side table flanking a sofa, tucked into an entryway, or beside the bed with a book and a cup.
