Biot Bugadier

France , 18th Century

$1,195

You don’t just stumble across a Biot Bugadier, especially not in this condition. Found in Aix-en-Provence, this oversized 18th century (!!) ceramic vessel was once a laundry essential, used to soak linens in ash and water before soap was common. Made in the village of Biot, where pottery traditions date back to the 15th century, these pieces are rare, nearly impossible to find today. Now, Sylvie loves this as a focal point of any room, whether set upon a table or the ground, it will be sure to be the center of attention.
