This Danish sideboard was made in the 1970s, when Scandinavian homes began returning to older farmhouse forms after years of sleek modernism. The paneled doors, small brass pulls, and scalloped base echo much earlier rural cupboards, but the scale was adapted for everyday family life. It was never meant to be a showpiece. It was the place plates lived, where table linens were folded, and where everything went back after dinner. Today,Sylvie uses it in a dining room, a lamp at one end and a bowl of fruit or a small stack of books left out within reach.
