Vintage One-Of-A-Kind Sylvie Favorite

In a workshop, order lived in a wall of drawers like this, every tool and part and fixing kept in its own place. Found in Montpellier and dating to the 20th century, it runs low and wide in soft old paint, rows of small drawers graduating to larger ones below, every one pulled by a round knob, all on a plinth base. The graduated drawers were the whole point, shallow ones up top for the small screws and fittings, deeper ones below for the bigger tools, a workman's whole kit sorted into one bench. Sylvie stands it along a wall in a kitchen or hall, the drawers for everything a house needs sorted and nothing it wants on show.

Notes from Sylvie:

Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, a bit of movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use. The painted wood finish shows some chipping and scuffs, with raw wood on the back. The interiors of the drawers are unpainted, showing the natural raw wood. Some knobs are slightly loose, though all drawers open comfortably. The piece sits level and is sturdy.
