In a workshop, half the work was knowing where everything was, and a bank of little drawers like this is how a tradesman kept it, a place for every screw and part and odd small thing. Found in Le Perche, at a dealer's stone house deep in the forest, it stands tall and narrow, two columns of small drawers with turned wooden knobs, a few still wearing the paper labels that once said what was inside. Every drawer is worn soft from a working life of being opened and shut, the plain, honest kind of piece that only grew more characterful with use. Sylvie stands it in an entry or a kitchen, the little drawers for keys, candles, string, and all the small things a house never knows where to put.

Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, a bit of movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use. The deep brown matte wood finish shows some scuffs and chips, and the piece sits slightly unevenly with a bit of wobble. All drawers open comfortably and have a variety of interior dividers, some of which are missing or show wear. The back is finished with thin plywood, with painted designs along the upper and lower sections.
