Every mark on this top was earned in a carpenter's workshop, where it took the clamps and the saw long before it ever saw a kitchen. Found in Le Perche and dating to the 20th century, it stands on four square tapered legs above a slatted shelf, a thick scrubbed top strapped at the corners in iron and fitted with a single drawer. A workbench was always built at exactly the height you stand to work, which is why it lands so perfectly as a kitchen island, made from the start to be used on your feet. Sylvie sets it in the middle of a kitchen, the drawer for the good knives and the shelf below for boards and bowls.
Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
Notes from Sylvie:
Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, a bit of movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use.
All items are final sale.
