Antique One-Of-A-Kind Rare

The jardinière brought the garden to the table, a vessel made for nothing but flowers, set at the center of a room where everyone could see them. Found in Belgium and dating to the 20th century, it is a low oval in pewter, its sides swelling into soft lobes and its rim scalloped all the way around, raised on a shaped foot. The lobed, curving shape is pure Rococo, made to catch the light from every side, so that even before the flowers go in it is already the centerpiece. Sylvie loves it at the center of a coffee table or down the middle of a dining table, filled with flowers or fruit.

Dear collector, these pieces have been used for many years and may show light wear consistent with their age. The pewter finish has some small black specks throughout. The piece is made from an alloy containing 95% tin, as shown on the makers mark on the bottom.
