Antique One-Of-A-Kind Wood

Long before Danish design was a name to drop, a Danish table meant honest joinery and nothing wasted, a thing built plainly and built to last. Found in Belgium and dating to the 20th century, it carries a thick plank top on four heavy turned legs that end in ball feet, braced low by an H-stretcher. That plain, well-made look is the root of everything the Danes later became famous for, furniture that trusts good wood and clean lines to do the work with no ornament at all. Sylvie sets it as a dining table with benches or mismatched chairs, sturdy enough for every dinner and every project in between.

Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use. The wood has been sanded back to raw, unfinished wood and shows a few light scuffs. The tabletop rocks back and forth noticeably on the base when pushed, but is fully functional.
