Antique One-Of-A-Kind Styling Essential

The carved bow at the top was the Louis XVI way of making an object feel like a gift, tied at the crest like a ribbon in the hair. Found in Le Perche and dating to the 19th century, it is a small oval mirror in a gilded frame twisted like rope and edged with beading, its glass beveled all the way around. That beveled edge, cut and polished at an angle, catches a thin line of light where the glass meets the frame, a finish kept for the better mirrors. Sylvie hangs it above a dressing table, small and pretty where a larger mirror would overwhelm.

Notes from Sylvie:

Dear collector, this piece has lived a long life and may show light scratches, darkened spotting, and the occasional chip or crack, with glass that may have been replaced along the way. The top trim has an age-related crack, with a small chip along the left side. The mirror frame also shows some scratches from years of use.
