Vintage Bedside Table - Set of 2

Matched pairs are the hard thing to find, two of anything that have stayed together all these years, and here are two nightstands that were never separated. Found in Normandy and dating to the mid-20th century, each is a slim metal frame with a glass top and a slatted shelf below, finished with a little shell-crested gallery at the back. Metal and glass made a nightstand that felt light in a room instead of heavy, the shell at the back a nod to the grand styles it was quietly borrowing from. Sylvie sets one on each side of a bed, a lamp and a book on the glass and slippers tucked on the shelf below.
