The hawking party has stopped in a clearing, a falcon lifting to a gloved hand while the hounds strain at the edge of the trees. Found in Le Mans and dating to the 20th century, it is a tapestry worked in deep greens and golds inside a wide border of flowers, a wooded landscape with a castle rising in the distance. Hawking was the sport of the nobility, and the hunt was one of the oldest subjects in tapestry, hung across the walls of great houses where the chase stood for a life of leisure and privilege. Sylvie hangs it above a mantel, the whole hunt carrying on quietly over the room.

Notes from Sylvie:
Dear collector, this piece may show sun-faded color and a few loose threads. It's all part of its age and character, just the way we like it. A loop on the back allows for hanging on a rod.
