The best light in a room is never the overhead kind, it is the low, warm pool a little lamp like this throws from a bedside or a shelf. Found in Lille and dating to the 20th century, this small lamp has a wrought-iron base bent and scrolled by hand into little curling feet, with a simple linen shade on top. No two of its curves match exactly, the small unevenness that tells you a base like this was worked at a forge rather than stamped out. It is perfect on a bedside table or a small shelf, wherever a room needs a little low light rather than a lot.
Minor variations from the images may occur unless otherwise noted. All sales are final.
Notes from Sylvie:
Dear collector, this piece may have rust spots, but we love it for its history and authenticity. The painted base shows some variation in color, and the linen shade has a few light smudges. The dimensions listed include the shade, and the lamp has been rewired with American plugs.
