Antique One-Of-A-Kind Exactly As Pictured Historic

Before electricity, a room was lit like this, three candles carried on a single iron stand and set where their glow would reach the farthest. From a château outside Lyon and dating to the 19th century, it rises in hand-forged iron, three arms twisting up from a shaped base on splayed feet to hold their candles at different heights. Wrought iron like this was shaped by hand at the forge, heated and hammered and twisted while it still glowed, so no two candelabra ever came out quite the same. Sylvie would set it at the center of a table and let it throw its shadows up the walls, the oldest kind of light there is.
