Vintage One-Of-A-Kind Wood

It began as a farm table, the kind a family gathered around for three meals a day and every occasion in between, before someone cut its legs down and set it low to live a second life. Found in Aix-en-Provence, it carries a thick, scarred plank top with a molded edge, resting on four heavy square legs braced by a long H-stretcher that runs the length of the base. In Provence a table like this was the most important piece in the house, built to outlast the people who made it and passed down rather than replaced. Sylvie would let it anchor a room the way it once anchored a kitchen, low and unbothered, holding books and candlelight instead of the harvest.

Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, a bit of movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use. The table has been sanded back to raw wood and is very sturdy, with some staining and scuffs to the top, along with minor knots and divots in the wood. It remains in beautiful condition, with the marks of its long history still visible throughout.
