Antique Rare Wood Sylvie Favorite

Out of an old colonel's study on a grand estate in northern France came three of these, the stacking bookcases a library grew one section at a time. Found in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon and dating to the early 20th century, it climbs five sections tall, each with a reeded-glass door that lifts up and slides back into the case, over a paneled drawer at the base. The barrister bookcase was built to grow, one glass-fronted section stacking on the last as a study's books multiplied, the doors tucking away so nothing gathered dust. Sylvie stands one in a study or a hall for books and treasures behind glass.
