Pine Folding Side Table
France, 20th Century
$1,295
Round when you want it, half its size when you do not. Found in Avignon and made in the 20th century, it sets a round pine top with one hinged leaf that drops down, all on turned baluster legs. A leaf that folds was the old answer to a small room, the table pulled open and round for company, then dropped flat against the wall to give the floor back. Sylvie would keep it by a window with the leaf up and a vase on top, or fold it against a wall in a hallway when space runs short.
