Antique Historic One-Of-A-Kind Collector's Item

The marble top is the whole reason this table exists, a cool stone surface a chocolatier could work chocolate and sugar on without it melting or sticking. Found in Avignon and dating to the 20th century, it came from Bayonne, pairing a thick marble slab with a painted base, a single drawer in the apron and fluted tapering legs. Bayonne is the chocolate capital of France, the first town in the country to make it, centuries ago, which is exactly where you'd want a chocolatier's table to come from. Sylvie uses it as an entry table or a small desk, the marble cool and easy to wipe, the drawer for whatever a room needs to lose.

Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, a bit of movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use. The marble top rests on the base and is not physically attached. The marble has some minor discoloration and staining throughout, as well as a few filled holes along the back edge. The white painted wood base shows some minor discoloration, chipping, and scratches to the paint, all a testament to its lived history.
