Antique One-Of-A-Kind Wood

It still carries its original key, the small iron one that has stayed with it all this time, still in the same lock it always has been. Found in Montpellier, it opens on two panelled doors under soft worn blue, a diamond escutcheon at the center and two deep shelves within. The iron rings across the top mean this Spanish cupboard was made to hang on a wall as readily as stand on the floor, the old way of keeping things up off the damp and out of reach. Sylvie would hang it in a kitchen for the everyday china, or stand it in a hall and let the blue do the talking.

Dear collector, as with many antiques, this piece may show signs of its age, including subtle repairs, a bit of movement, cracks, scratches, small holes, and surface variation from years of use. The cabinet is very sturdy and structurally sound, with a painted finish. The interior shelves, slatted wood backing, and top are raw wood, with some staining, scuffs, chips, and surface imperfections throughout. The drawers close properly, though the key is slightly bent and does not operate the lock.
