This is what the French used when it was time to gather the fruit. Found in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, this 19th-century apple picking basket was once used in orchards across Provence. It's lightweight, breathable, and strong enough to carry a day’s harvest. Made from bentwood slats and metal staples, it now works just as well for storing toys, blankets, or whatever needs corralling in style. Expect variations in wood grain, patina, and metal banding - each basket has its own marks from years of use in the French countryside.
