This cherry wood table from Barjac comes with two drawers, brass pulls, and a silhouette rooted in centuries of French farmhouse tradition. Provincial makers favored cherry for its strength and warm, honeyed tone, and by the 20th century, pieces like this were fixtures in rural homes. Once it held bowls of soupe paysanne or stacks of correspondence; now Sylvie would load it with art books, a morning espresso, or that candle you keep for show. Exactly as pictured.

This one is in really beautiful shape, solid and with its original finish gleaming. This antique piece wears its history beautifully. As with many antiques, this piece may show gentle repairs, cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it.
