A real 18th century Lorraine chair! The ladder-style back has those sweet little scalloped cutouts, the seat is a simple plank, and the turned legs are tied together with sturdy stretchers so it could survive centuries of long meals and longer conversations. These were everyday workhorses in rural French homes, pulled up to the table, the hearth, and anywhere a body needed to sit down for a minute.
