Sylvie found this copper poissonière in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, and it’s a beauty. A 19th-century French fish kettle, it was built long and oval to hold a whole trout or salmon, complete with a fitted lid. The copper exterior gleams from a recent cleaning but you can still see patina from years of use. Sylvie imagines it now as a centerpiece in kitchen decor, its history visible in every dent and rivet.
