Found in northern Italy and dating to the 19th century, this faïence pharmacy urn was once part of an apothecary’s working shelves. Made from creamy ironstone with hand-painted cascading grape garlands, it has that wonderfully sculptural silhouette these jars are known for - and still retains its original fitted lid and maker’s mark underneath. Sylvie likes it on the kitchen counter, either holding a few clipped olive branches or left completely alone where the shape can do the talking.
