This large lidded tureen carries the unmistakable charm of Saint-Uze pottery, the celebrated ceramic tradition that emerged in the Drôme region of France in the mid-19th century. Workshops around Saint-Uze became known for their creamy white earthenware decorated in vivid cobalt, a style born from newly discovered local clay that fired beautifully and allowed for crisp stenciled motifs like the blue florals circling this piece. Originally made for everyday table service, tureens like this were staples in French households, used for sauces, vegetables, or anything that needed to stay warm on the table. Sylvie loves how this one brings a bright hit of classic blue-and-white to a modern kitchen, whether holding olives or sea salt.
