Oh So French!
19th. c. Walnut Buffet
France, 19th Century
$2,595
Sylvie spotted this cabinet in Avignon and didn’t even hesitate. A 19th-century oak piece with hand-carved panels, a scalloped apron, and those curled little feet that give it a bit of lift. The surface has a dry, matte finish from decades of use, with small scuffs and variations that come from being opened and closed a thousand times. Inside, the shelving is wide and practical, making it just as useful in a dining room as it is in a bedroom. Sylvie loves it as a storage piece that still feels collected and considered. Exactly as pictured.
Dimensions:
40.5" H x 53.5" W x 21" D

Wood with metal hardware
Notes from Sylvie:
This piece has light and dark lines on the top surface, from sunlight exposure over the years. It has been sanded but there is still spots of the original finish throughout. It comes with its own original key to lock the doors and one interior shelf. As with many antiques, this piece may show gentle repairs, cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it.
Collector's Notice:
