Found in the French countryside, this monastery table is crafted from solid wood and finished to a pale, raw tone that lets the construction do the talking. Original hand-worked tool marks are visible throughout, especially across the thick plank top and the bold trestle base. Monastery tables were built for communal dining and long meals, sturdy enough to withstand daily use without fuss.

As with many antiques, this piece may show gentle repairs, cracks, scratches, holes, years worth of patina, and stains - just the way we like it. The stretcher that joins the legs is actually a bit longer than the table top. The dimensions are for the tabletop.
