A table built for real work, and plenty of it. This early 20th century Lyon drapery table was originally used in the silk factories that made the city famous, where long work surfaces and rows of drawers kept measuring tools, shears, and samples organized during the cutting of fine textiles. Found in Villeneuve, it is crafted from solid oak with a pale whitewashed finish that reads almost cerused, giving the wood grain a soft, chalky depth. The long surface, multiple drawers, turned legs, and full lower shelf once supported bolts of silk and busy hands, and Sylvie loves it now as a console table where all that history and storage still earns its keep.
