A set like this almost never turns up, and we’ve certainly never found another quite like it. These four Dutch dining chairs, discovered in Belgium, are crafted from fumed oak, a finishing technique popular in Northern Europe in the early 20th century that deepens the wood’s tone while highlighting the grain. The frames have strong, architectural lines with angled legs and supportive stretchers, while the seats are upholstered in olive velvet that adds just the right softness. The finish remains in very good shape, and Sylvie loves them around a table where the rich wood and moody upholstery feel both grounded and quietly elegant.
